About

The Center for Informatics and Computing (CIC) is a organizational unit of the Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI) in which research projects, development programs and services for scientists are performed in the fields of optoelectronics, information technology and computing.

Our Mission includes scientific research, development and maintenance of the infrastructure, technology and logistics for RBI and global scientific research, based on modern computer science, technologies and informatics, which have resulted in the development of eScience technologies on the basis of Science Information Communication Technology—ICST.

Certificate of excellence

Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI) is granted with the I4MS quality label and was previously accepted for funding trough the financial support for third parties (FSTP) mechanism and has successfully completed the support programme offered by the granting Innovation Actions.

Running projects

CIC has coordinated/participated in more than 20 projects funded by European Unions Research and Innovation programme and several funded by Croatian Science Fundation

H2020

The vision of this experiment (financed by HORIZON 2020 under FF4EuroHPC project) is to establish and predict the impact of heat on the structure and motion system of the industrial machine for additive manufacturing using HPC infrastructure.

The purpose of the EURO CC project (financed by HORIZON 2020) is to establish a network of national competence centres for high-performance computing in 33 member states of the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU).

EOSC-hub (financed by HORIZON 2020) brings together multiple service providers to create the Hub: a single contact point for European researchers and innovators to discover, access, use and reuse a broad spectrum of resources for advanced data-driven research.

HybridScale

HybridScale (financed by Croatian Science Fundation) will research and develop new models for parallelization and optimization of the advanced linear algebra algorithms with the primary goal to make the solution of a very large computation problem faster and more efficient by using large-scale distributed and heterogeneous computing systems.

Adria Science Portal

The portal is a suite of tools that enable easy execution of the specific meteorological application workflows on the Croatian national computing resources, like CRO-NGI grid infrastructure and HPC cluster Isabella.

CENVIS

CENVIS provides specilized computer and communication resourses as support to computer science and engineering, scientific vizualization, computer graphics and other disciplines that require high performanse computing, networking, storage and graphics.

CloudMan

CloudMan is a cloud manager that orchestrates the steps required to provision and manage compute clusters on a cloud infrastructure, all through a web browser. In minutes, you can use a vanilla SGE cluster or a complete bioinformatics analysis environment.

QRBG Service

The Quantum Random Bit Generator (QRGB) Service has begun as a result of an attempt to fulfill the scientists' needs for quality random numbers, but has now grown to a global (public) high-quality random numbers service.



Thermo web

CENVIS provides specilized computer and communication resourses as support to computer science and engineering, scientific vizualization, computer graphics and other disciplines that require high performanse computing, networking, storage and graphics.

PDB graphics generator

This database construction was initiated by researches who need information about topology and TM segments of membrane proteins. Soon it became database capable for storing any biomolecule which can be found on PDB.
